Laragon 2.0.3 Release Announcement
-
- Released: 2016-07-27
- Released a lite version of Laragon - only 28.6 MB!:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/laragon/files/releases/2.0/laragon-lite.exe - Fixed [BUG] Context Menu entries added even if opted out.
- Add support adminer: https://www.adminer.org/
-
I'm confused with the version number. Is the Laragon 2.0.3 referring to Laragon Lite?
If yes, why did you remove the Ngrok from Laragon 2.0.3? I think Ngrok is very useful, and it shouldn't be removed.
Also, the very main reason I setup the Laragon 2.0 on my laptop was because it contained many features (i.e. npm 3.1, node.js, cmder, ssh) that I currently don't have on my laptop. They shouldn't be removed as well.
-
I like the Lite version so much. You're awesome!
I do not like Adminer so I download phpMyAdmin and extract it to C:\laragon\etc\apps\phpMyAdmin. I don't think the button in the main windows (and the context menu also) will link to http://localhost/phpmyadmin (coz it links to localhost/adminer by default). But I am wrong. It links. That's great!
But there are some small things I think need fixed.
First, since you remove the transfer feature (@ C:\laragon\etc\apps\laragon), why don't you remove it from the context menu? I think you just forgot to do this.
--
Then, again, DB system issue. : (When I use the Change root password feature from the context menu. The passphrase is inserted to the field "authentication_string" not "Password" in the user table. This issue does not occur when create new users using phpmyadmin. I completely remove the old Laragon first then install this Lite version.
-
@DarkSpirit : From 2.0.3, Laragon releases also Lite version. It is helpful when:
- You want to have a Laravel Development quickly.
- You want to update your current Laragon quicky.
I did not remove Ngrok from Laragon 2.0.3, why do you think so?
Yes, you still have the full version, so no worry
-
@vienmq : Nice catch! I've fixed this

Sorry but seems you did not fix the "MySQL > Change root password" issue? It's not a big problem with me but will make others confused. I think so. (:
-
@vienmq : Is it a prolem with Laragon Lite? I thought you mentioned Laragon full version
-
@leokhoa Sorry didn't tell you the version clearly. It's Laragon Lite. : )
-
Oh, I see. I thought Laragon Lite uses MariaDB so there should be no problem. I'll check and fix it
-
I doubt that the command behind the context menu is compatible with MySQL 5.7 but not MariaDB so problem happens. ^^
-
Hmm, the command works for both MySQL & MariaDB. I tested many times. That why Laragon has "Switch MySQL Version" feature
-
@leokhoa I have tested it again. Completely remove the current and install the new one from SF. The problem still there.
Please note that it's the feature Change root password in the context menu.
-
Thanks @vienmq . If you insist it's definitely a bug. I will test thoroughly
-
Thanks!
I will test it with a clear PC and capture the screen.
-
@vienmq : I found it. It's a serious bug, will fix it soon. Thank you very much!
-
@leokhoa It's great to hear that you still have the full version available, but I can't find the download link for the Full Version of Laragon version 2.0.3?
There are only Laragon lite and Laragon versioin 2.0.2 on https://laragon.org/
-
@DarkSpirit : Sorry, I'm so busy with my daylight work so I just release the Lite of Laragon 2.0.3. I will fix the issue @vienmq mentioned at the weekend and release them both.
-
@Leo-Khoa I'm trying to figure out how to use nginx instead apache, but no success. After create a nginx directory and paste the last nginx version inside, the nginx option continues disabled.
-
@lcdss : I was going to support nginx, but the automated features need time to implement so I postponed. In the meantime, you can use php-fpm + apache fcgid to achieve ~ the same performance as nginx.
-
@lcdss : You got it with Laragon 2.1.0
