404 not found [solved]

  • | 1167 points

I just created a new project with Laravel 5.6. It completed without errors. When I tried to load it locally through Laravel Menu > www > ProjectName it comes up with this 404 not found error. All my other Projects are still coming up fine. Never had an issue with this before.

Really appreciate some help with this.

@drdan : Can you try to create another Laravel 5.6 project and send me an image with address bar if 404 error still occur?

@drdan : Strange! Did you uncheck "Auto create virtual host"?
    Please also:

    • Check your hosts file
    • Check Menu > Nginx > sites-enabled

Yes, it is strange. Auto virtual host is checked and this image shows it differently than the first site I created. The first site I made loads as http://vehiclelog.dan:8080/ and this one you asked me to make loads as http://localhost:8080/TestSite.

I shut down Laragon and started it up again and now it is using http://testsite.dan:8080/ but still getting the 404 error.

Found the problem. You were right about checking sites-enabled.

The root was set to "C:/laragon/www/". I have my projects stored in a different directory. I am surprised it doesn't use that directory since that is were the files are being created.

Glad to have a solution. Thanks for your help.

Now I see the whole picture. I went into Preferences and I changed the Document Root setting to reflect the directory that I am using. I created another new project and once I reset the servers it works just fine.
