Oh no, Laragon detected exceptions - Unable to create directory. --> but WHAT directory?

  • | 3436 points

    I just installed Laragon 2.1.3 (Nginx full install) and when I start it, it says:

    Oh no, Laragon detected exceptions!
    Unable to create directory.

    There's no logs or indication as to what directory it might be trying to create and running as administrator doesn't fix the problem.

    I wonder if it might be somewhat more useful to include a "full stack trace" or better error message because that error message might as well read "Something went wrong."

    I suspect your Antivirus prevented Laragon from creating a missing directory.
    I always want to show more details in exception errors. However, this kind is OS exception error message. If I know the steps you did I can improve Laragon.

    @leokhoa It's not the antivirus program.

    But I see the following:

    This happens just before Laragon crashes with the exception - my guess is that it's looking for some sort of ini file and it can't find it or something similar.

    I've turned off all known anti-virus programs (i.e. even with Windows Defender off and disabled) and still get the same error although the fact it's in something called 'smartscreen' sort of looks fishy.

    Strange. I have no idea about smartscreen.exe

    @lloy0076: I found it!!!. It's a serious bug but hard to re-produce. I've fixed it in Laragon 2.1.4 :)

    @The-Lucy-Obladi: I did not remember what was wrong but I suggest you to use the latest version (2.2.2)
